Seattle Seahawks: 2026 NFL Draft Preview

How They Got Here

The Seahawks overachieved in 2024 (10-7, wild card loss to the Rams). The 2025 regression was predictable — an aging quarterback, a poor offensive line, and a young defense still developing. Seattle is at a crossroads: do they ride with Geno one more year or find his replacement?

Team Needs

OLEDGEDL

Seattle picks at #32 after a frustrating 8-9 season that saw Geno Smith's magic finally run out. The Seahawks started 5-3 but collapsed down the stretch (3-6 in the final 9 games). Smith, now 35, threw 19 TDs and 14 INTs with a career-low 86.4 rating. Mike Macdonald's defense improved, but the offensive line remains a disaster — Smith was sacked 48 times. Seattle needs to protect whoever plays QB in 2026 and beyond.

Draft Outlook

Proctor solves the left tackle problem immediately. Howell adds pass rush. Woods anchors the interior. Schneider will take the best player available, but the offensive line need is screaming. A franchise tackle would extend Geno's career (or protect his eventual replacement).

Top Prospect Fits

1. Kadyn Proctor

OTAlabama

A hulking tackle with elite athleticism who fits Seattle's preference for mobile linemen. At 6-6, 330 lbs, Proctor would immediately upgrade the blind side. Geno Smith (or his replacement) needs protection — Proctor provides it. Odds: +175 to go #23 (favorite).

2. Cashius Howell

EDGETexas A&M

A speed-rushing freak with a tenacious motor. At 6-3, 250 lbs, Howell's dip-and-rip moves would give Seattle the pass rush weapon they've lacked since trading Frank Clark. He'd immediately start opposite Uchenna Nwosu. Odds: +225 to go #23.

3. Peter Woods

DTClemson

An athletic interior disruptor with rare energy. At 6-3, 305 lbs, Woods' penetration ability and motor fit Macdonald's aggressive defensive scheme. He'd anchor the middle and improve Seattle's run defense. Odds: +300 to go #23.

Draft Strategy

John Schneider has historically traded back to accumulate picks. But with an aging QB and a closing window, the Seahawks might actually use this pick. Offensive line is the priority — Seattle has failed to protect their quarterbacks for years.

Betting Analysis

The #23 pick market leans offensive line. Proctor leads at +175, Howell at +225, Woods at +300. Seattle is -125 to draft an offensive lineman in Round 1. Proctor at +175 makes the most sense — the line has been Seattle's Achilles heel for years. Schneider is +150 to trade back from #23, always looking for value.
